Best Indonesian food in Atlanta. Good prices too. The real Indonesian food is spicy, earthy, peanutty, salt fishy, coconutty, double cooked and wonderful. There are milder noodle dishes with a more Chinese influence as well that everyone can enjoy.
This is our absolute favorite place to eat in Atlanta. Really good food that is always consistent. Very affordable prices and there are always different varieties. The owners are lovely people and so very kind.
Very good Indonesian food
Don't give tips to this restaurant. The lady boss always take tips for herself not for employees.
It's half restaurant, half grocery store. They sell traditional Indonesian snacks, crackers, cookies etc. The store itself is not that big but it's enough to hold all the goodies. I especially like the kering kentang from there. As a bonus, one of the lady there (maybe the owner?) is really friendly and helpful. She helped me picked the best soy bean cake (Tempe). It's definitely one of my go-to place to stock up on Indonesian food when I'm in Atlanta.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE FOOD THERE!
I enjoyed the food. 3rd visit and the food was good
Good varieties of Indonesian food. Have great selections of Indonesian groceries, snacks, condiments, etc. Bathroom is out dated.
Good Indonesian food and good customer service. I came here many times
Good Indonesian food
Wonderful food, generous and friendly service. I was very sad that Tempo Doeloe closed but I’m happy that I found Batavia. Their tempe is out of this world!
The BEST...!!!
Ordered Nasi Goreng Belacan expecting a traditional Indonesian Fried Rice...received a dish that looked as if I ordered from a Hibachi restaurant. Not pleased AT ALL.
Great only if they have a great Indonesian cook in the kitchen. Inexpensive and great selection.
Ordered online and came here to find out the price was different (the online was wrong) - they wouldn’t comp the difference either! Unacceptable and horrible customer service.
This place is VERY unassuming. But don't let the simple atmosphere fool you, the food is really good. They have a premade selection of food you can order or get something from the menu. I get to salt and pepper fish all the time, very delicious.
Mostly complete, i find kencur frozen for $5 , kerupuk tempe, emping, and they have many more Indonesian snacks, bumbu, etc.. Also cooked foods..
Awesome...
Good
Super asli! The best Indonesian place I've been to on this side of the Pacific. I've liked serval warungs in California, but this one taste better AND is much more affordable. Their market is super complete too. I highly recommend and will be going there again on my next trip to Atlanta! I loved how we could sit and talk and eat. Felt just like being back on the streets in Jakarta.
If you miss indonesian food, this is definitely the place to go in Atlanta
this Place was overcharged my groceries
Great Indonesian food
Foods are very tasty .is great to test Indonesian food.
They have Asian mart also. Where selling lots of snack, food and seasonings Asia.
Awesome food, omg
Love the dim sum...never a disappointment
I used to work in the construction of new school just next to it and I ate their almost daily, the food there is amazing and you get a big portion for what are you paying. Also the lady who serve food there is very nice and always welcomed me with a smile so thank you.
Tried all the indonesian food 😋
Great place! Food is amazing.
Lady boss is friendly and reasonable price and food is ok
Everything was yummy, lamb satay and chicken and shrimp pan fried noodles. Will be back. Wish they had pork satay!
Best Indonesian Food in Town. Good customer service.
It was great restuarant
Great food at great prices
Always good meat and 2 veg sort of Indonesian place. Pretty much everything I've had on the buffet line at lunch has been good. It's in our regular rotation. Only ordered other things a couple times but they were good too. Never been for dinner.
Had the chicken gizzards with orange sauce, the beef, and the meat with lots of spicy peppers. I dont enjoy things bieng too spicy, yet this was perfectly balanced for me despite getting the spicy peppers and meat. Everything blended well together and the rice. Ready to eat and great flavor. Good portions for the price and quality of the meal. Love the personal feel of getting authentic food from a place you can tell knows their stuff.
Very authentic. The food was of great quality, portion and price. After experiencing food in Indonesia it was exactly how I remembered the time there.....Martabak!!!
Yum! Tons of options, some of which are premade. I got beef, chicken, and tofu with rice from the premade options available, and they were all delicious! And the roti? To die for! This hole-in-the-wall is now one of my favorite restaurants on/near Buford Highway! 10/10 would recommend!
I have a soft spot for restaurants that embrace their hole in the wall appearance. To me, it shows that they are secure in the taste of their food and don't feel the need to invest heavily in decor. I'm glad to have this validated, as their food is just super solid, and for the price, I don't think you can find better Indonesian food around. The lady serving us was extremely sweet and patient. One of my friends tried ordering something very basic off the menu, and she talked her out of it- which, I thought was funny and adorable at the same time. You can tune the spice levels to your liking. Even when I requested them to make it spicy the product wasn't too spicy, but it certainly was extremely flavorful. Everything was fresh and served hot. Will definitely come back again.
They have all what we need and they can order also by online so I don't need to go directly there
Batavia has the best home style, authentic Indonesian food in town. Iris and her crew put out a great buffet each day for lunch. Or you can order from the menu. Very inexpensive. There is also a shop area where you can purchase various Indonesian / Malaysian snacks and ingredients. If you like international flavors, you have to put Batavia on your list.
Goods place for some Indonesian food
This food and the flavors are so unique here! After my recent discovery, this place has become one of my favorites!
Lots of variety, good prices
Expensive
Batavia Restaurant has now re-opened for Takeout since 5/1/2020. The Steamed Pompano is by far my FAVE DISH in all of Atlanta... a healthy combination of Simple yet Complex flavors subtly blending together. Their other Grilled Fish and Beef Rendang are amazing as well!
Great Indonesian grocery store. They don't carry a gazillion items, just the necessary ones you need to cook Indonesian dishes with. Lots of prepackaged spices to cook rendang, soto ayam, lodeh, gado gado, etc. It's also a restaurant serving typical Indonesian dishes. They also have counter serve option for takeout Indonesian dishes.
There's no other way to say it: this place is one of the most amazing hole in the wall restaurants I've been to. It's not too common to find Indonesian restaurants in general. This place is hands down one of the best East Asian restaurants in the city of Atlanta. I discovered it a couple of years ago by chance, and come pretty regularly, at least once a week as my guilty pleasure.
Good for some Indonesian food craving
